Typical Factory Manager Requirements:
  • 15+ years progressive leadership in US food manufacturing. Full P&L ownership ($50m–$500m+ site or BU). Multi-functional leadership across Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and HR. Lean and Six Sigma fluency (Black Belt advantageous). Capital project delivery ($5m–$50m+). Board-level stakeholder management at PE-backed or family-owned firms. Union and non-union labour relations experience. Strong commercial and financial acumen. Comfortable through unannounced FDA / USDA inspections and SQF audits. Bilingual (Spanish) often a strong plus.

Why Our Factory Manager Recruitment Works:

Plant Directors and General Managers are the most consequential operational hires a US food manufacturer makes. They set culture, deliver P&L, lead through audits, and own capital plans. Our candidates have turned around underperforming sites, led $20m+ capital builds, stabilized union relationships, and navigated PE-led growth or integration phases. The Williams365 guarantee recognizes that strategic leaders need time to deliver — which is why every placement is protected for a full 12 months, covering at least one complete operating cycle and audit season.

Base Salary Ranges (2026):
  • Northeast: $220,000 – $310,000
    Midwest: $195,000 – $275,000
    Southeast: $185,000 – $265,000
    West Coast: $225,000 – $325,000
Add 25–40% target bonus, LTI / equity participation at PE-backed firms, executive benefits, and full relocation.

Key Success Metrics We Evaluate:
  • P&L performance vs plan. Site EBITDA growth. SQF / GFSI audit performance. FDA / USDA inspection outcomes. OEE and yield improvement. Safety performance (TRIR, lost-time incidents). Capital project delivery (on time, on budget). Salaried and hourly team retention.

Typical Benefits:
  • Annual bonus 25–40%. Long-term incentive plan (RSUs, options, or phantom equity) at PE-backed and pre-IPO firms. Executive medical, dental, and vision (typically 90–100% employer-paid premium). Life and disability insurance. Executive 401(k) with match plus deferred compensation at scale. 20–25 days PTO plus paid holidays. Full relocation package. Executive coaching budget. Company vehicle on multi-site roles.
